Meet Our Chef

Mr. Scott Lavrusky

A recent addition to our staff is Mr. Scott Lavrusky. Scott became our chef in August 2011 and has been making spectacular dishes ever since. He has a passion for food that is unsurpassed. Scott is very emphatic on using only fresh herbs and spices. He has even created a "secret" dry rub which he hopes to market on the web some day.  Fresh produce is purchased, where possible, locally at farm markets. It's important to him and Penn Bistro to support our local farmers and businesses.

Scott was born and raised in Rochester, PA. before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. His travels in the Navy eventually landed him in Tampa Florida where he started and owned an establishment called "Beer Belly's Cafe".  He perfected his culinary talent there, especially some southern and caribbean style dishes which has helped him broaden his culinary menus.  Lucky for us, family brought him back to Rochester, where Penn Bistro was priveleged and excited to employ Scott to display his talents. If you have an event with us, we know that you will meet him. He is very sociable and is always interested in hearing your comments.

Our menu is a suggestive guide to what we can offer. With Scott's talent he can make (virtually) any dish you may desire.  Ask him yourself of your favorite dish or for suggestions by him by calling him on his cell at 724-683-5957. We invite you to join us,  not just to have an event but to create a memory.  As Scott always says:  "Want a great party....serve great food!"
